Idea for future adventuring

As it turns out we didn't really understand the Erie Canal that well. I now think that one big reason is that the original canal has in large part become obsolete and replaced elsewhere by a new canal. It used to, for example, run right through Syracuse, where my mom grew up, but she always insisted it had been paved over. Which made no sense to me! But evidently the new canal goes completely north of the city.

So, Molitor and I want to some day rent a cabin cruiser and tour a big part of the canal system. Wouldn't that be cool? Better than the ICW, we think.
