Leaving Oswego

We have had a wonderful time here in Oswego, visiting with Aunt Eva and enjoying Lake Ontario lakeside living. This morning we leave for Niagara Falls (aka "Anagra Falls" according to Alice). Perhaps some day we could come back and visit Aunt Eva, staying at Sunset RV park again, and have Aunt Beth join us (at Eva's house). It'd be a wonderful mini-family reunion.

Yesterday we spent most of the day at Eva's reveling in just a few of the basic amenities of modern life: I took a long, hot shower in Eva's newly remodeled bathroom with a large, clean shower with great water pressure. And then we cooked a full meal in an actual kitchen! Whoo! Spanikopita and gazpacho (ingredients compliments of the wonderful Ontario Orchards and duh duh duhhhh Pricechopper! The grocery store of old folks, as far as I can tell).

Alice and Eva have gotten on like a house on fire. When we left last night, Alice told Eva, "I love you! I love you so much my heart might burst!" Which rendered us all slackjawed. Where does she get these things? We are taking away with us a set of 4 miniature Maurice Sendak books, which Alicie intently "read" in the car to all who would listen last night.

My mom and Eva also got along swimmingly. They are so similar! When Eva listed the kinds of foods she cooks for herself, it was as if she were reading off of my mom's Favorites list: pot roast, tuna noodle casserole, etc.
